Please join CDAD and the Coalition for Property Tax Justice for a conversation around the Coalition’s demand that the City compensate homeowners who were over assessed and illegally foreclosed on.

How have illegal assessments affected your district?

Since 2011, Wayne County has foreclosed upon 17,000 homes in District 2 and 9,500 of them were illegally assessed by the City of Detroit. That means that 72% of foreclosures may not have happened in District 2 if not for illegal assessments. It’s so important that CDAD members from District 2 are at this meeting to help us demand that the City of Detroit compensate residents that were illegally assessed.
