The Detroit Promise is celebrating Detroit high school graduates and college recipients of the Detroit Promise scholarship again with its Summer Celebration at the Monroe Street Midway. The celebration will be hosted August 17 from 3 – 9 p.m. and provides an afternoon of fun, including: skating, putt-putt golf, art installations, DJ, giveaways, and a Detroit Pistons basketball clinic.
The event is free to Detroit Promise participants (high school and college) and open to the public. Registration is encouraged but not required.
The Detroit Promise offers a tuition-free path to trade, two-year and four-year credentials at 26 Michigan colleges. Many seniors who both live in Detroit and attend any high school in Detroit are already eligible. To register for the Detroit Promise, high school students and K-8 parents can go to detroitpromise.com.
